Committees and Councils
Serving on committees and councils provide our members with opportunities to be involved, gain insight, develop relationships, create opportunities and give back.
Ways to be Involved
Committees and council participation is an excellent way members do their part in helping the association meet its goals while meeting their professional, networking, and social needs. If you are planning on attending meetings it is preferred that you register for the meeting you would like to attend.
Associates Council
This council, which includes every associate and subcontractor member, promotes an understanding of the needs and operations of all segments of the home building industry. The council also coordinates events that provide networking opportunities for all North State BIA members and financial support for the association.
Government Affairs Councils
Government Affairs councils are action-based groups whose purpose is to influence public policy as it relates to land development and home building. There are Builder Developer Councils for El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento counties and the region. Along with 2 committees for Utilities and Urban Infill.
Membership Council
Responsible for recruiting new members, retaining existing members, and evaluating member services and programs, the Membership Council also hosts member orientations and develops other opportunities that promote active participation in the NSBIA.
Sales & Marketing Council (SMC)
The SMC is an affiliated council of the North State BIA made up of sales and marketing professionals to promote excellence in sales and marketing within the building industry. They coordinate the annual MAME awards Dinner honors major achievements of North State BIA members in marketing excellence. Membership is $95 per year and includes membership in the NAHB National Sales and Marketing Council.
BRIDGE – Building Relationships in Development, Growth, & Empowerment
Is geared for young professionals that are under the age of 35 years old or have been in the home building industry for less than five years. BRIDGE provides opportunities for engagement amongst their peer group through education, social activities, and community service. BRIDGE members are welcome to attend monthly BRIDGE Engineers meetings to help with coordination of activities.
